Calliope’s Corner: The Place Where Poets and Songwriters meet, is the premier creative arts and poetry program at Marconi Award winning radio station WRHU 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University. Calliope’s Corner has a Gracie for its coverage in both the Health and Arts categories, as well as several Long Island Press Club awards. The program received a “Programming Excellence” award from WRHU. Calliope’s Corner has a local focus interviewing community leaders in the poetry and writing fields, such as the past Nassau County Poet Laureate Lorraine LoFrese Conlin and local songwriters like Billy Lamont and the President of the Long Island Poets and Lyricists Association Peter Hansen.

 

Paula has highlighted the work of various expressive arts groups from the MUSE Exchange to Arts with Impact. The show has also hosted national figures including the late Emmy-award winner Elaine Stritch, Grammy-award winning songwriter Diane Warren, Oscar-nominated novelist Mona Simpson and poet Aaron Poochigian.
