12 Aug Announcing The Word – A Festival Of The Spoken And Written Word

Here I am announcing THE WORD – A FESTIVAL OF THE SPOKEN AND WRITTEN WORD: Celebrating all Voices on Oceanside library’s  Near and Far.

This is the May 1 2023 POETRY NEAR AND FAR  international online poetry reading.  It was at this reading that I made the first announcement about THE WORD – A FESTIVAL OF THE SPOKEN AND WRITTEN WORD: Celebrating all Voices.  I had just received the  NYSCA grant funds,  distributed by the Huntington Arts Council and  I was so very excited to spill the beans about it!

I hope you enjoy this reading because I chose to keep my poems ‘near’ and read poems about my hometown: Long Beach and Nassau County. I was one of two poets laureate features, featured along with Sistah Joy Alford of Prince George’s County. Sistah Joy was also appointed as Poet Laureate of the Prince George’s County mega-church Ebenezer AME Church!  Special thanks to Tony Iovino and the Oceanside Library, New York who hosts this wonderful international reading.
